So is everything REALLY bigger in Texas???

Ok, so most have you have heard...Larry accepted a job transfer through Progressive Insurance to move to Texas. This actually came at a great time since Progressive announced this week that they are letting go 200 people nationwide....100 from CA alone. They have been restructuring offices all over. They use to have a Branch Manager and then a few Team Leads (Larry was hoping to get to this position last year). The Team Leads were over the two dept.s of the office (Prop. damage & Injury). Larry works on the injury claims. With this whole change the Team Leads positions were dissolved, one of them in the office will now take Larry's spot as he leaves, but the other was let go. Crazy how things work out! Texas is also a good move for us since there's a lot more options for job growth there! And we have been wanting to buy a house (super cheap there) and we will also be close to family and good friends.
Larry & I are flying out on May 31st to find houses for us. We were just going to drive out after Maddie gets out of school at the end of June and rent and apt, but I couldn't find anything under $1000. NUTS! So, we will get the ball rolling, put offers on houses, and then we will have a house by the time we get out there. Our Realtor said that houses are closing pretty fast in TX (30-45 days)...it's not CA...thank goodness.
Funny side note....I didn't know where to start to find a realtor in TX. I remembered an ad on BYU channel for www.LDSAGENTS.com , I went there and within 24 hours they connected me to a realtor. It's actually pretty cool, totally recommend.
So, we will totally miss our family and friends out here (in CA) but I know that the friends that I currently have will always be my dear friends where ever we live! I know it's totally crazy moving 1,500 miles away, but at least we have connections there. I know I will miss a ton of stuff being away from my Friends here like baptisms, birthdays, BABIES, and just fun girl time. I guess we all have to step outside of our comfort zones at some point, and I don't know if it's good or bad that this will be the first time in my life that I am able to do this. I have lived in Modesto for 29 years and I think it's my time. The girls are really excited to meet new friends and also to get to know their cousins better. I just ask for your prayers to help us along the way. We love you!

Baby Bumper

ok, so this wasn't as hard as the instructions said. Oh wait....I didn't use instructions! I figured it out on my own. I would have only made a few changes. The stupid instructions said to make 6 different panels and then tie them to the crib. HELLO.....dumb. I attached the six panels one at a time. I sewed all of the blues together to make one long strip, then all of the browns, then right sides together.
This is for my friend Jessica once again. Now I only have to make a nursing cover (knocker blocker) as she likes to call it! lol!

Easter

Well, at 9am we had choir practice then we came home and had an Easter Egg hunt for the girls in the back yard. We had made hard boiled/dyed eggs in Manteca the day before (thanks mom! HA HA HA) We made sure to count how many we hid, that way Larry would find them later with the lawn mower! We had b-fast and them got ready for church. Since Larry & I both sing in the choir I had to call around to find a family for the girls to sit with. Thank goodness there are some awesome families in the ward that will help out. Thanks Wagners! Our girls are actually super well behaved when we go places. We get compliments on them all of the time. People ask how they can be so good.....I told them that they know that we expect it of them. Nothing less. It also helps to have church, primary and discipline! The girls looked cute, Larry looked handsome and I think I looked pretty cute myself. The music was so so, not our best! But we were happy it was over. I came home after sac. mtg to put the ham in the oven. Then I went to Escalon to catch up with Mindy. She's finally preggo and having a boy in August! Yippie! After that I came home and Larry & I finished dinner. Zion came over since Melinda was still gone and Larry's parents came too. We all stayed up until late and played and talked. Zion missed his boys so much that he was super helpful wil the girls. He was up getting them drinks and even hid the eggs a few times for them. Thanks for the help. I hope everyone else had a great Easter!

Pre-Easter

Well, It's been a while since I have posted. Sorry. It's been nuts. You know how you go through the weeks and you are so busy and when you have time to take a minute for yourself the last thing you want to do it take the time and type out what has been going on. Also hoping that soon somethings may be forgotten and not remembered by typing them down for all to see. Oh well.
Pre Easter- Larry & I went to a movie with my friends hubby the friday before Easter. She was gone with their 3 adorable boys to see her family in Utah. So I crashed the guys night out and asked Mom Evans to watch the girls. Of course they had a blast there. Before the movie I got a call from Zion (my friends hubby) that the later showing would be perfect because he was waiting for the Police Fingerprint Guy to get there....WHAT? He came home to find the house broken into and both tv's and the playstation stolen. The house was a mess, but nothing was taken that couldn't be replaced. THANK GOODNESS! I am glad that everyone is safe and sound. The next morning we had a ward choir rehersal for Easter. Then we ran some errands and then went to go pick up the girls in Manteca. Larry's mom had been telling us to get some kites to fly at the park....but we are too lazy to do it......so.......of course we got there and she had bought the girls each one. Maddie got a Princess (of course) box kite- we thought this would be the hardest to fly...WRONG. Super easy! Kylie's was a tropical fish....it was suppose to have LONG tails on it.....but Larry cut them in half instead of attaching the second one. I was joking when I told him that there must have been lots of research on these kites to see how they fly and that is why they were so long.....I was totally joking.....! We went to go fly them and Kylie's was the hardest to stay up.....the tails were TOO SHORT and UNEVEN. HA ! It was actually sort of funny, but really frustrating....moral of the story.....DO NOT CUT THE KITE TAILS IN HALF> READ THE DIRECTIONS! Larry's mom's kite had tails too......it work pretty good for the most part. It was really funny because we were flying them in the baseball field across the street from their house and right after we walked on the field the sprinklers came on.....Larry's dad (in his motor wheelchair) was going to come in, but now couldn't because of the water. So he just had to sit int he dug out and watch. Eventually he made his way around the field on the sidewalk to watch.....but for us......the sprinklers were getting closer to the back of the field every 10 minutes or so. Maddie had fun, but Kylie was NOT happy that hers wouldn't stay up and she couldn't hold it on her own. Oh well. We were out there for over an hour. I had never had so much fun flying kites! Hopefully I will get the pics up soon.

Meet Brylee Leona Evans---my new niece!

Ok, so here she is, all 7 lbs 12oz, and 19 inches of her. I know Jeanann and Nate are so happy the waiting is over! Whew! She is just a day or so before her due date. Apparently, Jeanann's body would not go into the full dialation and labor....so out she came via C-section. Luckily we had conference today, so we were able to drive up to UC Davis in Sacramento and see Brylee and Jeanann at the hospital. Jeanann's doing pretty good, considering she was cut open just about 10 hrs before! Brylee is perfect, 10 fingers and 10 toes! When we got there Nate and Bradyn and Mom and Dad Evans weren't there yet, so we got a full hour to hold her! Maddie and Kylie were so sweet with her. It's neat....Jeanann had a bracelet from the hospital that she had to wear to match Brylee's, but they were mini music boxes. When they get close the mom's plays soft music. When they get near a baby that isn't theirs.... it tells them it isn't their baby! I thought this was great!!!! Brylee was wide awake and content with all of this new attention, what a sweetie! I know all of her other cousins are just itching to met her. I am so happy that we live close enough to go up and see them. They are moving to Florida at the end of May and we will miss them very much! BY THE WAY....YES...that is a monkey sticker on Bradyn's forehead! :)

Yes... I know....I couldn't resist making this for her!
